We provide a wide variety of residential glass products and carry most of them in stock for immediate installation. We understand that it's not always obvious what type of glass is best for your particular situation so call and we'll be happy to figure out what you need.
 

• Window Glass - We carry standard window pane glass in 3/32" single-strength thickness and 1/8" double-strength thickness and can cut it to fit your custom sizes in less than an hour.    We can provide the supplies you need to install it yourself or can make an appointment for our installers to put it in for you.  To measure most wooden windows or cabinet doors for glass, first remove all putty or wooden stops.  Secondly measure the opening for the glass after the putty or stops are removed and then subtract 1/8" from the size.  If your tight measurement is 12" x 28", you'll want to order a 11-7/8" x 27-7/8" glass.
   
• Insulated Glass - Our standard insulated glass is warranted for Ten Years against seal leakage.  We carry many of the standard sizes used in North Alabama in stock.  In the event your window is not a standard size, average order time is 3 to 5 business days.  We know the standard sizes that most window manufacturers use, so call us and we'll be happy to tell you how to measure your window for a replacement unit.   Need an odd size or shaped unit?  We'll be happy to come out to your house and make a pattern to be sure your unit fits and is installed properly.
   
• Safety Glass - National and local building codes require safety glazing in hazardous locations.  We offer plenty of alternatives in a wide variety of price ranges including laminated safety glass, tempered glass, Plexiglas (acrylic), Lexan (polycarbonate).  All are in stock for quick installation except tempered glass which must be run through a tempering process at the factory.  Lead time for tempered glass is 1 to 5 business days.  Should you have a question about the safety codes and what type of glass is required, we'll be happy to help you.
   
• Restoration Glass - If your house is 100 years old or more you know that replacing a vintage window glass with a modern window pane can ruin the look of your home.  We offer a variety of options including both hand-blown and machine manufactured restoration glass designed to match your existing vintage glass.  The handmade glass is manufactured by Bendheim and is available in two varieties: full restoration glass or light restoration glass.  "Full" is more distorting and accurately replicates much of the glass made in the 17th and 18th centuries.  "Light" is less distorting and closely resembles glass found in structures built in the 19th and early 20th centuries.  In addition we offer a less expensive machine made copy of restoration glass.  Call or email for details and pricing.

• Tabletop Glasses - We have 1/4" thick glass that is perfect for use as protection of the surface quality of your tables. We can grind or polish the edges for your protection or bevel the edges for an expensive look.  We can also provide tinted glass or 
   
• Heavy Glass - In many cases the glass actually is the table.  We can provide heavy 3/8" or 1/2" thick glass in clear or tinted glass.  If you really want a clear beautiful look we have PPG's Starphire ultra-clear white glass. 
   
• Patio Tabletops - We carry in stock a number of standard patio glass tabletop sizes and shapes in obscure tempered glass and acrylics.  In addition we carry the 2" diameter umbrella hole plug which protects the glass when the umbrella is used and also provides a smooth flat surface when the umbrella is removed.

Plexiglas & Lexan:

• We carry a complete line in stock of acrylics (Plexiglas) and polycarbonates (Lexan) as well as other less expensive plastics in thicknesses ranging from 1/16" thick to 3/4".   

Window Tinting:

• We offer window films that cut out ultra-violet radiation and can drastically cut the amount of heat and light coming through your windows.

Ventilated Closet Shelving:

• We offer Shulte brand closet shelving.

 Once an insulated glass' perimeter seal has failed, it can not be repaired and be expected to last.  The wooden and aluminum sashes can be reused but the insulated glass will need to be ordered and replaced.  The glass unit usually runs from $50 to $100 for a typical window.  The labor will vary depending mainly on two factors.
     If the consumer brings the sash in to our shop the cost will be significantly less than if we have to go out and replace it.
     If the insulated glass unit is in an aluminum sash or a wooden sash that has a marine gasket it will require less labor than a unit that is glued directly into a wrap-around wood sash. The labor can vary from $50 to $200.
